The part compendium is a collection of all raw parts for use as a reference for new and veteran players of the game "Rawbots". I strive to keep this post up to date into the future as new parts are introduced however it is not possible (particularly in these early days) to have the full understanding of every part. So should you notice an irregularity or a missing part please leave a post below and I'll add it in. Also the format for these entries is as follows:

Part_ingame_name

Description: A brief description of the physical attributes of the part

Properties: A brief description of the useful attributes of the part

Connection Points: The number of connection points the part has

Weight: the weight of the part in Continuum Weight (CW) where 1 CW is the weight of 1 continuum

Usage: A quick note on how this part could be used

Update Notes:

v1-5.

Found all six islands of Gaia and cataloged parts

v6.

Found the hypercube (only available on lab map)

v7.

Added the fist (gained using DevTools)

Added Weights and moved connection points to it's own category

The fin is used as a deflective surface. If you orientate it horizontally, it can be used to glide. But if you attach it behind the craft, with an elbow piece horizontally, you can use it to provide pitch for your aircraft. Or if you mount it on an elbow piece vertically, it can be used to provide both yaw stabilization and control. Additionally, it can be used to provide steering as a rudder (I believe) while in water.

See the wikipedia articles for ailerons and elevators (aircraft).

The bot on the airfield island was using it to that effect I'll update once I'm done cataloging my current island (I've nicknamed it the obstacle course)

Edit: I did not get to complete the obstacle course as my save corrupted but I have got a lot of new parts to add

I'm fairly certain I have every part so far now (until I can get my creative mode working this is all I can do (without just sitting at a part guessing passcodes))

With regard to the motor part; does the velocity hex mean x rotations per unit time (and if so, what unit time? Seconds?). I can't get on to experiment atm, but I do have a minor helicoptor idea in mind to try out (unless someone else beats me to it :P).

Further thinking leads me to believe that the idea can be done without knowing that, but it might be useful for something else in the future, so I'll still ask.

I have a working helicopter that I need to recode to turn easier as velocity has a max value (anything higher and it just chills at max). Not sure about what the velocity represent but I assume something like x degrees per clock cycle (1/32 seconds as the clock speed is 32Hz)

Massive Update!

I just added weights of all the parts I could get my hands on, organised the list alphabetically, moved connection points to it's own category, and added the fist part.

Hopefully now we can get some more balanced bots out without always needing to be symetrical

Vowels found a bunch of references to parts we don't have in the code. I went through and weeded out the ones we have access to and will list the rest here:
  • Antenna,
  • Earth,
  • Grenade,
  • Grid,
  • Helix,
  • Hex_earth,
  • Hex_earth_ramp,
  • Holoprojector,
  • Hook,
  • Islandbot,
  • Magnet,
  • Pistol,
  • Pushbutton,
  • Shotgun,
  • Shoulder,
  • Shovel,
  • Slot,
  • Speaker,
  • Switch,
  • Transceiver,
  • Triple_helix,
  • Wall
  • and a truck load of body_gen parts
Also this just in Vowels has managed to spawn a part on the list! (Apparently it's complex so ask him if you want to try it)

Once again this is entirely Vowels findings so thank him if any part of this interests you.
